This year, BareStage is joining the 50th anniversary celebration of the iconic Free Speech Movement with HAIR, a joyous tribute to the traditions of political protest, freedom, and individuality that still linger as fundamental pillars of our campus climate today.

HAIR follows the story of a tribe of young hippies living in New York City, exuberantly celebrating the counterculture, anti-war movement, and sexual revolution of the 1960s. Amidst the national fight for Civil Rights and horrendous bloodshed in Vietnam, Claude and the rest of the tribe search for clarity and purpose; conflicted, they struggle to balance their rebellious lifestyle with the demands of conservative society and the increasingly menacing threat of the draft.

Get ready to let down your hair and tear up your draft card as we bring this revolutionary American journey to Berkeley this Spring!

Please note that tickets for Student Musical Activities events are not for sale at the Zellerbach Hall Ticket Office. We DO NOT MAIL tickets - tickets bought online will be waiting for pick-up at Will Call, at the venue, beginning an hour before showtime. To purchase tickets for these events please visit 72 Cesar Chavez Center (basement level), Monday through Friday 10:30am–4:30pm or on the day of a Friday show, 10:30am - 12:30 pm. The office is closed on weekends. Tickets may be purchased over the phone by credit card (510-642-3880) or online. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour before showtime.

All ticket presales close at 10:30am on the last weekday (usually Fridays) prior to the show. This is so we can print all tickets for a show weekend, as our box office is NOT open on weekends. Emails and voicemails received outside of business hours will not be read or heard until the next business day.
